Corporate Social Responsibility and the social dimension of the company are and always have been a strategic priority for Y&V.
As stated among our corporate principles: "We strongly believe in the possibility of sustainable development and our obligation to contribute favorably to the advancement of society and of the communities influenced by our operations.”
In this sense, internal and external social investment has been an essential part of our business. The internal dimension is centered on the company's relationship with the workers and their families. Our human resources are and will always be our biggest asset. This involves creating and offering opportunities for development of personal, family and professional improvement.
For the external dimension we evaluate and canalize relationships with our surroundings. Y&V promotes and consolidates social action programs at each of the communities located in the areas of influence of the projects we execute.
In the year 2005 we took an important step in the company's social commitment by creating Y&V Foundation, which is aimed at offering opportunities for education, overcoming exclusion and improving the quality of life in terms of efficiency and sustainable development.
In order to guarantee the economic feasibility of the proposals to be executed within the framework of our social responsibility plans, Y&V sets aside 10% of its profits for Y&V Foundation.

THE COMPANY'S SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The company's social responsibility is oriented towards encouraging and executing social-environmental impact and sustainable development programs in the spheres of influence and communities where company projects are executed, in partnership with public and private entities and the organized community.
Among projects being currently developed we would mention "The equipping of the universal welding workshops for INVECAPI's Santa Cruz training center" at Puerto Cabello on the Morón-Puerto Cabello axis, aimed at training young out-of-work people in the region.
Another social-environmental project under study is the Improvement of the Paragüita Garbage Fill in Morón, which will also complement an Institutional Reinforcement and Environmental Education program for the communities.
Through an agreement with our clients, we have also supported different social projects requested by the company and the community, such as the electrification of rural communities and the construction of access roads, among others.
Company volunteer work
A person becomes a good citizen when, together with others, she or he is capable of creating and transforming things for the benefit of the community.
At Y&V we offer our employees and their families the chance to participate in different social solidarity initiatives.
We are working on supporting the organizations that work with children at high social risk and with low-income communities in programs such as sports, recreational and cultural projects, donations of school books and items, training in values and the organization of special events.
On the other hand, the volunteers have joined environmental conservation and recycling campaigns.
At Y&V we are convinced that with commitment, solidarity, consistency and good will it is possible to leave a significant mark on human development and contribute to the progress of the communities.
