Health, Safety and Environment

Y&V works with the Health, Safety and Environment Management System (Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad “SGS”, Higiene y Ambiente), following OHSAS 18001criteria, through which are managed the control mechanisms necessaries for guaranteeing an adequate procedure for the prevention and reduction of occupational, operational and environmental risks. This same SGS System contemplates the permanent promotion of culture and training in questions of prevention and continuous improvement of its processes, based on compliance with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 guidelines and with the laws, standards and regulations of each of the countries where we operate.  

The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management Team is composed of professionals trained in the environment and occupational health and safety and it provides support and advice on safety in works design, coordination, inspection and specific HSE plans in the administrative and operations centers, participating from the very beginning in our offers for future projects.  

According to the Health, Safety and Environment Policy, our Commitment to Work Health and Safety is founded on starting all work to be executed by the company with an integrated evaluation of the implications and the impact the project may have on:  

  1. Our colleagues at work and our clients;
  2. The inhabitants on towns and villages nearby our worksite;
  3. Flora;
  4. Fauna;
  5. Bodies of water;
  6. The environment in general; and
  7. Existing structures

In order to take necessary prevention and protection measures in accordance with the regulations issued by the respective entities of local, national and international competency. We are currently going through the evaluation procedure for implementing the Environmental Management System following the criteria of ISO Standard 14001.

Y&V guarantees the well-being of its employees by providing them hygienic, healthy and ergonomic working conditions, in accordance with the nature of their respective functions.
