EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITIES TO PROMOTE LIFE PROJECTS
The Y&V Foundation was born in 2005 with the mission of providing education opportunities, overcoming exclusion and improving the quality of life of children and adolescents at social risk. In these 15 years, more than 20,000 children and adolescents at social risk have been assisted with programs focused on education, food and health.
“We have run our programs in partnership with universities and non-profit organizations. We offer financial support to projects that these institutions carry out in the areas of action of our mission. In this way, we enhance the scope of benefits aimed at a group as important for the future of the country as its children and young people”, explains Carolina Ynserny, CSR Manager of Y&V and Director of the Foundation.
Y&V SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Between 2005 and 2020, the Y&V Foundation Scholarship Program has awarded more than 6,263 financial aid to low-income university students with outstanding academic performance in public and private universities in Venezuela.
On average, 418 scholarships have been awarded each year to engineering and related majors. In most cases, the beneficiaries are selected by the universities, others come from the foster homes supported by the Y&V Foundation or are children of company employees.
“I grew up in a foster home supported by the Y&V Foundation. Being a recipient of the scholarship has been one of the great things that could happen to me in life. It was a support and a great opportunity without which it would have been difficult for me to achieve my goals. Not only did they give me a helping hand to start my university studies, but they also allowed me to start my working life as a Y&V employee. Even being one of the young people who comes from a foster home, they were faithful to their principles and ideals of integrating the less privileged into society”.

“I am a graduate of the Antonio Jose de Sucre National Polytechnic Experimental University Caracas-Venezuela. Currently I am a Business Intelligence Consultant for Oracle Argentina, providing support in projects for Latin America. To be able to practice my profession, to a great extent, I owe it to the Y&V Foundation scholarship and I will always be infinitely grateful for that trust in me”.

During the confinement for COVID-19, the Y&V Foundation has maintained its support to these young people for their remote studies. Many have sought to fulfill their dreams in other countries, others have decided to stay in Venezuela to finish their studies or to work, and thus all have directed their lives thanks to education.
“In these months of pandemic, the help could not be more timely, that is why I consider them the invisible support. Every month when the situation reaches the limit, I know that I can count on your help, both those I know and those who do not, but that without your work this would not be possible. And now that I have the opportunity, I want to say, Thank you, Fundacion Y&V for motivating me to continue with my studies and for making more and more efforts to improve myself”.

“I want to express how important the Y&V Foundation scholarship has been. More than a contribution that helps us in these difficult times such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the country's economic situation, it has also been a motivation to continue believing that education is our priority and that it is worth doing our best to meet the goal, which is to learn, become professionals, and graduate with honors”.

We also promote the participation of corporate volunteers in activities aimed at the well-being of children and adolescents who remain in foster homes in order to promote the social commitment of our employees ”.
“At the Foster House Casa de Ana Foundation we host 35 girls with situations of physical and emotional abuse. The Y&V Foundation has been fundamental in meeting their needs, since with the contributions received we can feed and give quality education to these girls and contribute to their emotional development by giving them a purpose in life ”.

"For us you are a blessing, because no matter how much the amount is, we know that month after month they are there accompanying us and that is priceless when the needs are so many. This school is in the middle of nowhere and the arrival of the internet has been a support for the community, the teachers, and the students. We had a while gathering funds to hire the internet service and thanks to your contribution that month, it was achieved".
